Note From Gina

Happy Tuesday!

Hope you enjoyed your weekend. I actually had to drive my dog, Roxy around in the car Saturday night for 40 minutes because she was having a panic attack with all the loud fireworks/bombs going off close to the house. Luckily within 10 minutes of driving around she calmed down.

As I'm writing this note to you, Roxy is out like a light-goes to show you what stress will do to you. She'll probably sleep the rest of the day, except of course when it comes time to eat. :)

The Aromatherapy Luminary Tip

Detering Ants

It's that time of year again-I see black ants are starting to come inside and crawl around.
I've got one word for you - Peppermint.

I've read in several of my aromatherapy books that Peppermint essential oil will deter ants and also mice.

Here's what you do: get some Peppermint essential oil and put a couple drops, undiluted, near doors and windows. You can also put a couple drops on cotton balls and place them in corners and nooks around the house.

Always be careful not to place them where either your young children or pets can get to them.

You can also make a spray by adding 10 drops of Peppermint EO to 2 ounces of water in a spray bottle, shake well and mist near bottom of doorways and around the room.

*Important Note: Before using any essential oils, check with your medical practitioner if you have any health concerns or conditions or if you are pregnant or nursing.

Meditation - Not Just For Yogis

When I was younger and heard the word 'meditation', an image of some old man sitting Indian style on the floor with a long beard wearing a turban and a robe, chanting Ohhhmmmm would form in my mind and I thought only strange people did that sort of thing.  This is what my conditioned mind.....
