Note From Gina
Happy July!
Just a quick note to ask everyone a favor. I'm going to send out a survey to all of you soon. Just a quick 2-3 question survey to help me know how often you would like to get my Pathway to Presence newsletter and what day everyone prefers to receive it. I know we all get so many newsletters and we are all very busy. I plan on sending it out the third week of July-that is if I have my act together by then :) so look for this subject in the email: VedaSun-Survey
Thank you all in advance for helping me out.
There's a great article below by Karen Field, the anxiety management expert. I bought her Anxiety Management Toolkit in which gives useful resources and techniques to keep your stress and anxiety levels in check. I also recommend signing up for her free e-course and newsletter. Her website address follows her article. Enjoy!
I'd also like to welcome all new subscribers to my Pathway to Presence newsletter, wishing you an inspiring journey as you embark on unleashing your vibrant inner self. And much gratitude to those who have been on this journey with me throughout!
Just a quick reminder that you will receive a full version of my newsletter with lots of life-enhancing features & articles on the first Tuesday of every month. Then on the Tuesdays in between you will receive a short and sweet version with useful tips and resources.
I grow by recommendation. Feel free to forward this newsletter to a friend or two who would benefit from unleashing their vibrant inner self through the power of Aromatherapy and life-enhancing resources.
Thank you.
Empower yourself to have an amazing day!
Happy July 4th weekend.

The Aromatherapy Luminary Tip
Burn Relief
Here's a great remedy if you get a minor burn. Ask me how I know-let's just say I had to come up with something to ease a burn I got on all my fingertips on my right hand a while back and it worked. Now I keep a little bottle of this handy in the refrigerator just in case. Plus, I've had a lot of clients come in the salon with curling iron burns-try this, it will help.
To a bottle add 15 drops of Lavender essential oil to an ounce of aloe vera gel. Shake well. Keep in the refrigerator. Apply as often as needed to the burn area. If it's more than a minor burn, you better get it checked out. This will help relieve insect bites too.
*Important Note: Before using any essential oils, check with your medical practitioner if you have any health concerns or if you are pregnant or nursing.

Are You Creating Stress For Yourself?
We can create anxiety for ourselves if we set our standards too high. If you find that you are expecting perfection from everything you do (and from everyone else as well) then you may find that you are creating anxiety for yourself. Take a look at the following questions to find out if this is you:
If you are not sure if you are expecting too much of yourself it can be helpful to ask people close to you what they think. They will know if you are a perfectionist!
Good news!
Because this type of stress and anxiety is within you, it also means that you can control it. This can take some work as you will need to re-programme the way you think and your expectations but with practise you can do this. By learning to let go and allowing yourself to do 'just enough', you can manage the anxiety that you might be creating for yourself.
Action points:
One of the key issues to changing this is to start thinking in a new way. To prepare for this, identify some times when you realise that you may have put pressure on yourself to perform to a high standard. This might be giving a talk, writing a report or cleaning the car - the 'what' isn't important; it's how you deal with it that counts.
Ask yourself the following questions for each situation that you identified above:
If you find that you are always expecting a lot of yourself and others, you are giving yourself more occasions to increase your anxiety. You probably just think you've got high standards but it becomes much more than that. Each time you start telling yourself that you haven't done something properly or that it isn't good enough, you are being self-critical. These negative feelings can generate feelings of anxiety in you which keep the cycle of anxiety going. By constantly beating yourself up over things which you think you should have done better, you are disempowering yourself and reinforcing negativity.
Action points:
You can combine this with a commitment to treat yourself as you would your best friend, that is be supportive, warm and loving to yourself. If you learn to be kind to yourself you will dramatically reduce the anxiety and stress that you create within yourself.
And remember - it doesn't have to be perfect - just good enough!
